Each year Wakeman BGC showcases the artistic talents of our members in conjunction with Boys & Girls Club of America’s National Arts Contests, which enables Club youth to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through visual arts.

This year's theme, The Joy in Our Stories, celebrates the power of positive stories to uplift and inspire joy through a diverse range of artistic expressions. Youth are encouraged to submit artwork that creatively expresses joy in one of the following contest categories:

• Visual Arts – Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Pastel
• Performing Arts – Theatre, Dance, Music, Spoken Word (Must be pre-recorded)
• Digital Arts – Graphic Design, Digital Music, Digital Photography, Digital Storytelling
• Applied Arts – Jewelry Making, Woodworking, Fashion Design, Furniture Design
  

Participants ages 5-18 compete in four age groups:

• Ages 5-9
• Ages 10-12
• Ages 13-15
• Ages 16-18

Exhibit Opens: Wednesday, February 21, 2024, 5:30-7:30pm

Additional Viewing Hours: Thursday, February 22: 2pm-6pm and Friday, February 23: 2pm-6pm

One entry per age group, per category will be selected by Wakeman Boys & Girls Club to proceed to the National Contest, National winners will be announced on April 18, 2024.
