Antes de unirse a Wakeman Boys & Girls Club como director ejecutivo de la casa club comunitaria de Madison Avenue, Carlos fue director ejecutivo del Ulbrich Boys & Girls Club en Wallingford. Carlos dirigió la organización durante un período de crecimiento significativo, expandiéndose a North Haven con dos sitios satélite y desarrollando una asociación con North Health & Racquet Club. En 2021, se asoció con las Escuelas Públicas de North Haven para abrir cinco sitios escolares y al año siguiente facilitó la fusión de Ulbrich Boys & Girls Club y Boys & Girls Club de New Haven. Antes de unirse al Ulbrich Boys & Girls Club, Carlos fue Director de Operaciones en el Boys & Girls Club de New Haven.

Carlos served as President of the Greater New Haven Mentoring Collaborative for 2.5 years, building awareness on the importance of mentoring. Carlos has completed Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Advanced Leadership Program, Executive Leadership Program, and Principles of Leadership through Employers Association of the Northeast. He earned a Certificate of Completion and Fellowship through the University of New Haven for participating in the Transforming Youth Justice Leadership Development Program. Carlos earned his Associates in Human Services at Housatonic Community College and Illustration at Paier College of Art. Carlos is married to his lovely wife Cynthia Collazo for the past 20 years and they have an amazing son Joncarlos. Both Carlos and his wife are natives of Bridgeport. Carlos is a proud alumnus of the North End Boys & Girls Club, which previously occupied the site of the current Madison Avenue Community Clubhouse. He worked for the Bridgeport BGCs from 1995-2003 and has come full circle and found a home with Wakeman Boys & Girls Club.
